B12 og søvn
Studier viser at B12 virker direkte på epifysen slik at den provoserer en raskere frisetting av melatonin på natten som tilbakstiller søvn-våken cyklus. B12 forårsaker også at melatoninet slik at det forsvinner raskere på morgenen. Svært alvorlige søvn-våken sykdommer har med stor fremgang blitt behandlet med vitamin B12 i metylkobalamin form, selv om det kanskje ikke fungerer for alle.
